Lets catch up!

Hey everyone! I am so sorry I have been so absent but I have so many exciting things to say update you on we last spoke.

In June I graduated from my DTS, and as the season came to an end I was so grateful for how the Lord moved and worked. stretched me, challenged me, and grew things in me over the five months I spent out of the country. At graduation I was able to give a speech about what it means to surrender our expectations of what we think the Lord should do and how he should work in our lives. I talked about how I felt that I personally experienced that in order to be used by God we have to depend on Him, and in order to depend on him we need to surrender to Him. Sometimes this can look like bad things, things that directly distract us from him and his calling on our lives, but often it can look like good things. Like surrendering our idea of how he will use us, or our holds on relationships or plans we may have. I left me DTS with such bittersweet goodbyes and so many beautiful things I learned and testimonies to His goodness.

I spent the summer home, enjoying being with my family, working and resting from the time away. But now- I’m back!

One of the calls I feel God put on my heart while I was away was a call to missions. I feel strongly that wherever I find myself I need to answer his call to serve, love and testify to his goodness and miracle working in my life. After a lot of prayer and consideration I decided to continue my time with YWAM at North Cascades in Lynden, Washington. Fun fact i’m actually doing it with my uncle, shout out Timmy Thurston.

I actually get the opportunity to be apart of a hybrid school that joins two into one. I will be doing a combination of a DBS (Discipleship Bible School) and a SOMD (School Of Ministry Development). the Bible school portion will give me an in depth study of the Bible, we will read cover to cover, diving into an inductive study talking about everything contextually and relating it all to ministry and leadership application. The other portion is more focused on leadership development, where I will be having teachings about how to lead, what it looks like to lead in a ministry setting and how I can take what I know, what God has given me, my callings and giftings and apply them practically to everyday life wherever I am.

SO now I have been in Washington about a week and am going to ask for your guys’ continual prayers, faith, and support as I follow God further into what I believe he’s calling me into.

While staying here there will be a lot of work, school work, assignments and projects but I will also be participating in local ministries like Wednesday night kids ministry, food shelf/ distribution, bible distribution, coffee conversation, a thrift store, evangelism, and prayer walks. So i’m very grateful for the opportunity to still be working with people, hearing their stories, loving and serving the community.

Overall and to summarize, i’m excited to be in an environment that is training me and preparing me for whatever is next and whatever God has in store. I am open to any conversations about what i’m up to or learning, my contact info will be below. And i’m grateful for all of the support, prayers and love you have shown me over the past year.

Prayer requests-

  • Please pray that the lord will be moving, working, and communicating clearly over the next SEVEN months. That he will highlight and that I will stay sensitive to His spirit. That he will continue to shape, refine and grow me into the person he wants me to be, and that I will be able to faithfully follow.

  • Also as part of the school requirements I have to participate in some leadership and also a local internship. So pray that where I fall short the Lord will be glorified in my weakness. That his plan will be perfected in whatever work happens here. And also that I will be able to find an internship that suits me and fits me well.

  • Another strong need is financial as always. While I am here I need to make monthly payments of $1,000 at the beginning of each month. I have enough money for the first few, but any donations that you can make out of you generosity would be so greatly appreciated. They can still be made through this website and all of the merchandise is still available to purchase and those proceeds go to me as well.

Ive attached some photos from the end of my DTS along with some from the first week in Washington. Thank you all so much again, love and appreciate you all so much.

God bless, Aimee <3
