Okay everyone, T minus 12 hours until my flight to Costa Rica! I just want to take a moment to thank everyone who has committed their time, money, support and encouragement over the last few months and especially over the last few days while goodbyes were being said and bags were being packed. I also want to thank everyone who has been faithful and consistent in prayer regarding me and my trip. I am truly so grateful for all of it and feel so blessed.

Recently I was able to submit the payment for the first portion of my missions trip which is super exciting. I still am fundraising, and still need to raise about $3,000 by March. Thank you to everyone who has generously given finances towards me and my trip, I am truly astonished and so entirely grateful for the support.

As tomorrow comes and my adventure in Costa Rica will begin I am definitely sad, saying goodbye to my friends and family has been so hard and I can’t wait for June to come to see them all again. However, I am also so excited to be in Costa Rica, to meet the team, work with the people, experience the culture, and see all the ways that God is going to work in the coming months.

As the trip starts and continues there is still a need for prayer. Prayer for open minds and surrendered hearts. For strength for the team and leaders, for all of the people that will be reached and affected by the missions work. As well as prayers for me and my heart, mind and my nerves.

Currently the Lord is challenging me with these questions as I step into this trip.

What does it truly look like to trust God? How can I surrender my need/want for control in order to fully surrender to Gods will? How much control do I really have? How can I live life with undeniable childlike faith in my faithful father?

Matthew 6:31

“So don’t worry about these things, saying, What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear? These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.”

Romans 8:26-28

And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words. And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will. And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.”
